Grassroots Innovations: Complementary Currencies (GICC)

GICC seeks to understand the factors that support or hinder the diffusion of complementary currencies systems and how they might contribute to wider processes of systemic change, particularly in the context of current academic and policy interest in the urgent need for ‘transitions’ towards more sustainable development trajectories. The project aims to inform policymakers about how they can support and harness the creative energies and innovative potential of grassroots communities, to help meet sustainable development policy goals.
