A key challenge in helping people to save energy is that energy is effectively ‘invisible’ in the course of everyday life. In-home display monitors are designed to ‘make energy visible’ and, by so doing, help householders monitor and manage their energy use so as to save both energy and money.
In partnership with Green Energy Options [GEO], who design and manufacture in-home display monitors, this project looks at what actually happens when householders are provided with real time feedback on their domestic energy use. Involving 275 householders from across the East of England, the project is trialling a range of monitors over a 12-month period to see what impacts they have on household energy use.
