3S members Jason Chilvers and Helen Pallett are advertising two Calls for Papers for forthcoming conferences around the topic of experiments in participation, building on the work they have undertaken in the Remaking Energy Participation UKERC project.
Both conference panels are concerned with relational approaches to the study of participation and democracy – particularly taking a broader systemic or ecological perspective on participation’s models, issue-spaces, institutions and publics. The panels are also interested in including work which has actively tried to intervene in and experiment with participation and democracy, using this relational and systemic sensibility as a starting point.
The first call is for the forthcoming EASST Conference at Lancaster University, UK, 25th-28th July 2018. You can read more about the ‘Experiments in Democracy’ panel and submit your paper abstracts to the call here. The deadline for submissions to this panel is 14th February.
The second call is for the forthcoming RGS-IBG Annual Conference at Cardiff University, UK, 28th-31st August 2018. You can read more about the ‘Remaking geographical landscapes of participation’ panel here. Submit your paper abstracts to Helen Pallett (h[.]pallett[at]uea[.]ac[.]uk) by 14th February.
Get in touch with Helen via email or on twitter if you have any questions about these panels.
