Harriet Dudley

I am a 1+3 PhD student in the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST) and in the Science, Society & Sustainability (3S) Research Group.  My research explores UK climate change governance, specifically the role of the UK Committee on Climate Change (CCC) in shaping the wider knowledge and governance landscapes in which specific decarbonisation policies are designed and implemented. In particular, my current focus is on analysing the policy recommendations that the CCC have put to the UK government over the past decade to understand longitudinal trends in discourse, policy argumentation and policy focus.

In July 2019 I graduated from UEA in with a first-class BSc (Hons) in Environmental Geography and Climate Change with a Year in Industry. Very shortly after (!), in September 2019, I began my 1+3 PhD by undertaking a MRes Social Science Research Methods so that I can combine my climate science background with knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
